Special #GEW2021 announcement
Over the past 12 months, the Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society (HES) has promoted the concept of Harmonious Entrepreneurship and
- produced 50+ case studies to exemplify and prove the concept
- developed an educational MOOC composed of 10 learning units
Now, using these resources, the Society is moving into an implementation phase, the first stage of which will be an online international student start-up competition.
Early in 2022, this will be Beta tested with teams of students and staff from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the University of Malaya-Wales. Once tested, it will be rolled out nationally and internationally later in the year..
Essentially interdisciplinary teams of no more than 6 members, which may include up to two members of staff, will compete online by developing an idea for a Harmonious Entrepreneurial start-up that will meet the HES criteria and result in the creation of a new venture that addresses the Sustainability Challenge and embraces a triple bottom line of profit-planet-people.
The winners of this stage of the competition will then go on to research their idea more fully and present it orally and in writing to a panel of expert judges who will decide on the competition winners based on the idea and the presentation.
All entrants will receive a certificate of participation and feedback on their ideas, and the winners will receive support to launch their venture.
By Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, we are anticipating the competition to be up and running and several businesses to have been launched as a consequence of the Beta test.
If you are a student and are interested in participating, or a member of staff who would like your students to be involved, we would be delighted to hear from you. If you believe you could contribute to the competition in some way, we would also be interested to hear from you. Please get in touch with us for more info at firstname.lastname@example.org
We want the participants to learn, enjoy the exercise, and benefit the planet, both locally and globally.
We hope you have enjoyed GEW 2021 and look forward to collaborating with you in 2022. As Sir David Attenborough said last week at COP26, if we work together, we can save our planet.
David and Felicity
