David and I are delighted to share that our chapter features in the newly published Circular Entrepreneurship Ecosystems: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Trends, edited by Professor João J. Ferreira, Professor Magnus Klofsten, and Professor David Urbano. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of circular economy entrepreneurship (CEship), examining how entrepreneurial ecosystems can drive sustainability across diverse contexts.
In Chapter Three, “The Need for a Systemic Entrepreneurial Solution to the Sustainability Challenge: Evidence from the Welsh Circular Economy and Beyond”, David and I investigate the challenges and opportunities of integrating circular economy principles into entrepreneurial ecosystems. Using Welsh case studies and insights from the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, we propose the concept of Harmonious Entrepreneurship—a systemic model that balances profit, people, and planet.
Why This Book Matters
Described by its editors as a catalyst for action, this book bridges key areas of circular economy, sustainability, and entrepreneurship ecosystems. It combines theoretical insights with practical examples, highlighting how businesses can move from linear models to regenerative systems that minimise waste, maximise resource use, and contribute to global sustainability goals. Through its case studies, the book offers valuable lessons on how circularity can be successfully embedded in ventures, aligning profit with purpose. These real-world examples showcase the potential of circular models to drive innovation, adapt to diverse contexts, and redefine sustainability practices.
Whether you are an entrepreneur looking to adopt circular principles, a policymaker exploring new strategies, or a researcher investigating sustainable ecosystems, this book provides the insights, tools, and inspiration to effect meaningful change.

Congratulations Felicity and David for being part of the new publication focusing on the Circular Economy and ensuring Wales’ significant progress in this field is included. The Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 clearly demonstrated that Wales, as a small clever country, can lead the way in innovation and the best practice now being adopted by local government and public bodies, provides a framework for a stronger, environmental and economic future encompassing the principles of Harmonious Entrepreneurship.
