Summer 2022 HES update

The academic conference “is a way of converting work into play, combining  professionalism with tourism” (David Lodge, 1935-).

After a whirlwind first 6 months of 2022 in which we

• Beta tested the Online Harmonious Entrepreneurship global student competition
• Published 4 book chapters and 4 journal articles
• Posted weekly, a new start-up Harmonious Enterprise Case 
• Engaged in Doctoral Research
• Participated in the UWTSD’s winning entry for the Triple E European Entrepreneurial University of the Year Award
• Produced a booklet, with Assoc. Prof (Dr) Kath Penaluna, on the 40 year history of Entrepreneurship Education at UWTSD
• looked after, in Felicity’s case, a young family,

..we are taking a brief summer break. BUT, we will be back, refreshed and ready for a busy Autumn and end of year.

First thing up is a session at the annual IEEC Conference in Swansea on 7^th September where we will present the outcomes of the Beta Test for our Online Harmonious Entrepreneurship student competition. Then, in early November, we will present a paper with Kath at the “Sustainability in the Creative Industries” conference that is being organised by the Universitas Ciputra Surabaya in Indonesia. In late November, we will present a further paper for the 4^th Wales Real Food and Farming conference to be held nearer home, in Lampeter, in partnership with Canolfan Tir Glass. At the same time we will be fine-tuning our online student competition and preparing for its global launch, as well as editing a Special Issue of the iournal “Sustainability”. This will focus, particularly, on how academia is responding to the Sustainability Challenge.

Harmonious Entrepreneurship is gathering pace, and we expect it to continue to do so. We look forward to collaborating with you during the upcoming academic year 22/23 but, for now, we hope you enjoy the rest of summer and take a well-earned rest.

Academia is not easy, despite what some believe, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
