We must “remember our unique power as human beings and our continual ability to lead, innovate and problem solve. People can achieve great things”. (HRH The Duke of Cambridge)

Launched in October 2020 by HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, the Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious environmental prize ever. Like the Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society, it has been designed to incentivise and celebrate changes that will repair the planet. On Sunday evening, 17th October 2021, the finalists and winners were announced at a ceremony held in the Alexandra Palace in London. Each of the winners in the five categories (Protect and Restore Nature, Clean our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build A Waste Free World and Fix Our Climate) received a £1million prize and support to scale their project.
Out of the 750 nominations received, one of the Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society case study ventures, Sanergy, was a finalist in the Build a Waste-Free World category. Whilst the category was won by the City Milan in Italy for its redistribution of waste supermarket foods to the City’s needy residents, Sanergy’s finalist status for its safe sanitation and waste management project in Kenya can only act to promote their activities globally, to help them scale their venture to help improve millions of lives and replenish the earth’s natural resources.

The Harmonious Entrepreneurship Society congratulates Sanergy on its achievement and wishes it continued success.
The event, which will take place each year until 2030, is managed currently by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Next year’s event will be held in the USA. Further information about the Earthshot Prize is available at Earthshotprize.org.

Congratulations to Sanergy – what an achievement when one considers the volume of nominations. And, congratulations to HES for flagging this up as a Case Study back in February 21.
