HES Peace Publication launched @ LSW ECR Colloquium, Bangor University

HES showcasing new research at LSW ECR Network Colloquium, June 18 2024

Yesterday I had the privilege of contributing to the Learned Society of Wales’s second ECR Network Colloquium, hosted by Bangor University under the theme “A Connected Wales.” This vibrant event provided me with a dual platform – to lead an interactive workshop on “Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset to Support ECR Career Journeys” and later to showcase the HES latest publication output.

The “Connected Wales” theme reflects the Society’s commitment to fostering a cohesive and interdisciplinary research network across Wales while connecting Welsh research with policy and practice. In line with this vision, I presented a poster on the new English and Welsh language access booklet that highlights Welsh Harmonious SMEs contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) and Wales’ Well-being Goals.

HES Booklet 2024 Available in Welsh and English

The booklet showcases a diverse range of Welsh SMEs that embody the principles of Harmonious Entrepreneurship. These enterprises not only contribute to the global SDG 16 agenda but also play a vital role in creating a prosperous, resilient, more equal, healthier, and globally responsible Wales, with cohesive communities and a thriving culture. The content provides inspiring stories and impactful work of modern Welsh ventures, each contributing to peace activism in their own unique way. Through interviews and cases, we explore how these SMEs harness the spirit of activism and combine it with their creative business models to effectively address social and environmental challenges, crafting their own solutions to a more just and peaceful world.

David and I welcome you to access the online booklets, and hope that this resource will serve as a valuable resource for businesses, students, and policymakers, inspiring them to adopt ethical and sustainable practices that align with the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.

We extend our gratitude to the Learned Society of Wales and Bangor University for hosting this exceptional event and providing a platform to share our work. We look forward to continuing our efforts in promoting Harmonious Entrepreneurship and contributing to the achievement of the Well-Being Goals and SDGs in Wales and beyond.
