We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest research paper, “Harmonious Entrepreneurship: A Sustainable Model for Addressing Global Inequality,” in the Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies by Emerald Publishing.
This study demonstrates how the disruptive HES entrepreneurial business model is capable of tackling the exploitation and inequality that traditionally have resulted from entrepreneurship. especially in emerging economies. By employing systems thinking, and the concept of harmony, we formulate a systemic solution, exemplified through six diverse cases spanning different industries and economies.
While these cases evidence the applicability of the model and show how it offers a practical pathway for enterprise to ameliorate and prevent inequality, we invite further research across varied political-economic contexts and sectors. Additionally, we emphasise the need to change the entrepreneurial mindset by adopting a “being and caring” mindset rather than one of “having and needing.”. This will require significant changes in how entrepreneurship is taught in order to align it with the sustainability challenge in general and inequality in particular.
