Last Thursday was a remarkable day for Dafen Primary School as they celebrated a ‘triple whammy’ event during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2023 (GEW2023). The school not only embraced the week with enthusiasm but also dove headfirst into a series of enterprising activities. These activities were focused on developing a range of sustainable products for the Christmas Fayre and as gifts for families and friends. Building on their showcase in Brussels at the Being Entrepreneurial Change Conference 2023, they hosted a local whole-school showcase event, inviting leadership from local primary and secondary schools and other special visitors.

The event was truly a sight to behold and is a testament to the ingrained and holistic approach to entrepreneurial learning at Dafen Primary School. This approach aligns perfectly with the mission of the new Curriculum for Wales. It supports the school’s commitment to developing key skills and competencies while contributing to their eco-goals and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The children displayed examples of their ongoing portfolio work and also gave verbal presentations of their endeavours. The range of skills showcased was breathtaking.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the pupils, staff, governors, and our wonderful visitors who made this event a success. Your dedication and hard work in fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation are truly inspiring. Was a joy to facilitate this event.

  1. Congratulations Felicity – brilliant achievement and investment in these young, aspiring entrepreneurs. Taking Wales to the heart of Europe to talk about enterprise is always rewarding and to share the journey with such an influential conference will bode well for future collaboration. Keep up the good work and we look forward to other schools and colleges building on your success.
